As Senior Graphic Designer and Head of Audiovisual Creation at Canal 2 International, I led the visual and motion design campaign for the 13th edition of Canal 2’Or, Cameroon’s premier music and entertainment awards show. After a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 edition returned with the theme “Unmasking Our Talents” — a symbolic nod to the post-pandemic era and a celebration of artistic resilience.
I conceptualized and produced the event’s teaser, which featured a 3D representation of the COVID-19 virus wearing a mask. The virus is absorbed into a protective bubble that morphs into the iconic Canal 2’Or golden sphere — a visual metaphor for cultural rebirth. This teaser set the tone for the entire campaign.
My responsibilities included:
Producing the full video campaign: teaser, reveal, and event spot.
Creating promotional capsules for nominees, voting mechanisms, and calls to action on the event’s Facebook page.
Designing the full broadcast graphics package: animated logo, opening and closing credits, segment jingles, and on-screen branding.
All visuals were crafted using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, while the motion graphics and video content were developed in After Effects and Premiere Pro, with a strong emphasis on animatics built around the event’s logo.
The main challenge was to visually capture the emotional weight of the post-COVID context while reigniting public enthusiasm for live cultural events. The result was a vibrant, emotionally resonant campaign that honored the talents of Cameroonian artists and reconnected audiences with the joy of celebration.
I created a vibrant series of short video capsules to spotlight each nominee and drive audience voting on social media. These clips reflected the event’s theme, “Unmasking Our Talents”, and helped build excitement around the awards in the post-pandemic cultural revival.
In 2010, I designed the original Canal 2'Or emblem - a circular gold logo that has since become the visual hallmark of the awards. I developed this dimensional mockup of the official trophy, and offered precise production guidelines from the metal symbol to its polished wooden base. This model preserved the prestige of the ceremony, while ensuring that the trophy was produced efficiently and faithfully.
I produced high-energy video promos for Canal 2 International’s coverage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. These teasers captured the global spirit of the tournament through bold motion design and rhythmic editing, building excitement across the network’s audience.
