African Stories – Documentary Series
Video Editing | Cross-Cultural Collaboration | Storytelling from Within

As part of an international collaboration between Deutsche Welle Akademie (Germany) and Canal 2 International (Cameroon), I contributed to the production of Histoires Africaines — a documentary series spotlighting authentic African experiences, told by Africans themselves. From 2010 to 2016, our team traveled across Cameroon, Benin, and even Berlin, capturing original stories rooted in local realities.

Representing Cameroon among ten African countries, our trio — journalist Cathy Toulou Elanga, cameraman Jérôme Demenou, and myself as video editor — worked closely on every stage of production, from concept development to final cut. Using Avid Media Composer, I shaped the narrative flow of each episode, ensuring clarity, emotion, and cultural integrity.

This project was not only a creative journey but also a professional milestone. At its conclusion, we were awarded certification as trainers, empowering us to pass on our documentary production skills to fellow media professionals.
